Bridgeton has an array of handmade crafts, vendors and a food court. Its scenic historic district includes the Bridgeton Mill and Covered Bridge, the 1878 House, 1822 Case Log Cabin, and Bridgeton School.
“Indiana‘s Most Famous Covered Bridge” was first built in 1868. It was burned by an arsonist in 2005 and rebuilt by Dan Collom and a community of volunteers in 2006. The mill, originally established in 1823, was purchased by Mike and Karen Roe in 1995 and restored into the working mill it is today. Check out their delicious organic flours, cornmeals, and mixes. The mill is open every day April through November.
The 1878 House, a two-story Victorian structure, was built as the millers home. Owned by the Case family since 1983, it serves as a gift shop offering handmade crafts, antiques and unique collectibles. The 1822 Case Log Cabin features rustic gifts and living history information. Come by the front porch during any of our events and see pioneer crafters at work and listen to some live dulcimer music. The 1878 House and Case Cabin are open every weekend late April through November.
Downtown Bridgeton is designated a Historic District and you’ll see Dr. Crooks’ old office building and the Bridgeton Country Store, both built in 1868. The Old Schoolhouse is a relic from the early 1920s, and other historic buildings line the street of this quaint little town. Bring a picnic to the park, drop a line in the creek, or take a walk through the Bridgeton Bridge. You don’t want to miss this treasure in southern Parke County.
